STORY OF AN OUTRAGEOUS AND LIVELY PRINCESS MARGARET Let’s start from the beginning of her life. Margaret was born on 21 august 1930 at Glamis Castle in Scotland, in her mother’s ancestral home, and was affectionately known as Margot within the royal family. The registration of her birth had been delayed for several days to avoid her being numbered 13 in the parish register because in some cultures 13 is known to be an unlucky number.
